Abstract

NiO and NiO/MnO₂ nanocomposites were successfully synthesized by a hydrothermal method and investigated for their structural, morphological, optical, electrical, and magnetic properties. XRD confirmed the crystalline nature of NiO and the coexistence of NiO and MnO₂ phases in the composite. SEM revealed nanowire-like NiO and nanorod-like NiO/MnO₂ morphologies, while EDS confirmed the expected elemental composition. Optical analysis showed modified absorption and a reduced apparent band gap after MnO₂ incorporation, while PL results indicated suppressed charge-carrier recombination. The dielectric and impedance studies demonstrated modified dielectric behavior, reduced impedance, and enhanced AC conductivity for the composite. Magnetic measurements further revealed significant modification of the magnetic response after MnO₂ incorporation. These results demonstrate that hydrothermally synthesized NiO/MnO₂ is a promising multifunctional material for dielectric and magnetic properties.
